Technology that enables big data for your business

Big data isn´t a single piece of software. It is an ecosystem of complimentary tools, services and platforms that together deliver a big data architecture and solution.
"BIG DATA is the NEW OIL!"

Big Data technologies

A technical enabler to use your customer universe

Behind the buzz words of Big Data, you will find it referenced and articulated that big data is all about three major concepts known as the "3V's":

Volume: Many factors contribute to the increase in data volume. Transaction-based data stored through the years. Unstructured data streaming in from social media. Increasing amounts of sensor and machine-to-machine data being collected. In the past, excessive data volume was a storage issue. But with decreasing storage costs, other issues emerge, including how to determine relevance within large data volumes and how to use analytics to create value from relevant data.

Velocity. Data is streaming in at unprecedented speed and must be dealt with in a timely manner. RFID tags, sensors and smart metering are driving the need to deal with torrents of data in near-real time. Reacting quickly enough to deal with data velocity is a challenge for most organisations.

Variety . Data today comes in all types of formats. Structured, numeric data in traditional databases. Information created from line-of-business applications. Unstructured text documents, email, video, audio, stock ticker data and financial transactions. Managing, merging and governing different varieties of data is something many organizations still grapple with.

However we prefer to say that it is much simpler that this. We are moving into a new era "The Data Driven Age" and this is being fueled by Big Data, that is why we would rather say that "Big Data is the New OIL!" and like oil you can create and refine a rich and diverse range of products to enable your business in every dimensions. Some of these key new products are:

Information

Insight

Knowledge

But most of all we believe that information and knowledge is beautiful and that these new creations should be easy to understand, something you should be able to play and interact with, share with your partners and colleagues and most of all allow the information to literally pour into your eyes and mind.

Solr

NoSql storage, Fast response times no matter the data volume!

At the hear of the Prism platform is a NoSql index replacing traditional relational databases. Solr is by far the most popular enterprise search engine with NoSQL features.

Solr (pronounced "solar") is an open source enterprise search platform from the Apache Lucene project. Its major features include full-text search, faceted search, dynamic clustering, database integration, and rich document indexing. Thanks to distributed search and index replication, Solr is also highly scalable.

The Prism platform is aggregating, washing and enriching unprecedented volume of data as fast as needed and stores ready-to-be-served into Solr.

Hadoop

Fast, reliable, scalable, distributed computing

The Apache Hadoop software library is a framework that allows for the distributed processing of large data sets across clusters of computers using simple programming models.

It is designed to scale up from single servers to thousands of machines, each offering local computation and storage. Rather than rely on hardware to deliver high-availability, the library itself is designed to detect and handle failures at the application layer, so delivering a highly-available service on top of a cluster of computers, each of which may be prone to failures.

Hybrid mobile

Incredible development speed, beautiful user-experience and cross-platform mobile apps

Our technologies is enabling world-class user experiences.

Contrary to native apps that are specifically designed to run on a device’s operating system, the Prism Mobile stack takes the hybrid approach. It combines the portability of the standard HTML 5, Javascript and CSS 3 with a native container that facilitates access to native device features and thus supports multiple mobile devices including iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phone, and more.

We are using first class frameworks such as Sencha Touch and PhoneGap, a high-performance HTML5 mobile application framework and deployment platform.
